The HZJ79 is not the same as older models. They use a joint more similar to 80 series and have the larger 24 spline at the joint. The axles are different length however. Most the failures we see on stock joints on the 80 series are as a result of heavy use on a old worn out joint (due to AWD). Since 70 stuff is not AWD, and generally lighter weight, we don't hear of too many failures as the stock joints are pretty beefy. For this reason we've had very small demand to create a late 70 series kit. We have had several customers use our 80 series joints, they feature dual snapring grooves for old/late 80 series or with manual hubs. Manual hub use will require trimming the end a bit. I'd suggest getting just the joints to use with your stock axles, since they are the late type like these see very few axle shaft failures (no neck down like old).
