| Description | These rain gutter towers fit any vehicle equipped with factory rain gutters, including the 40, 45, 55, 60, 70, and 80 series Toyota Land Cruiser. Large slotted holes in top line up with Gamiviti rack plates, as well as the cross bars for many tray racks including Rhino. Smaller holes 1" apart are also provided to mount up to extrusion profiles. Kits come complete with stainless hardware to assemble the towers and secure it to the vehicle. Three height options are available, using one of three riser options. 30-60° risers, 45 degree risers, and extended height 45 degree risers. The name of the two come from the angles used in the top riser- the 45° risers use two 45° angles while the 30-60° risers use one 30° and one 60° angle. The 30-60° are lower, and extend inward further, compared to the 45° risers. The 30-60° risers are designed to fit the 60/62 body style, but will also fit the 80 series for those who have removed their factory rack, and desire to have a lower roof rack. The 45° risers are designed to fit the 80 series Land Cruisers that still have their factory rack, also most vans, Jeeps, G-Wagons, and other vehicles equipped with rain gutters. The height difference is about 1" between the two- 5" from the rain gutter or 6" from the rain gutter. Here's all that same information again in bullet point form... 30/60 Rain Gutter towers- about a 5" rise from the rain gutter, best for 60 series, and 80 series with the factory rack removed. 45 degree Rain Gutter Towers - about a 6" rise from the rain gutter, intended for 80 series with the factory rack still installed, FJ55 racks, and most other non-Toyota vehicles like vans, Jeeps, and G-Wagons. Extended height 45 degree towers- about an 8" rise from the rain gutter, intended for FJ40's, 45's, high roof 60's, also Land Rover Discovery, high roof Delica vans, or any other rack or cross bar setup where an 8" rise from the rain gutter is desired. The extended height 45 degree risers are for FJ40, 43, 45 style hard tops, also high-roof 60 and 70 series. These also work on Land Rover Defenders, and other vehicles where a taller tower is desired- total height about 8" from the rain gutter. Additional height can be achieved on all styles, using the extension plates below, and/or spacer washers between the riser and your roof rack or cross bar. To measure which size works best for your vehicle, an easy way is to lay a board across your roof, then measure the gap between the board and your rain gutter. Be sure to add about 1" to allow space for your rack to flex, and to add accessories. Most of our 60 and 80 series rain gutter rack packages ship with the lower 30/60 risers, though in some cases we'll use a combination of 30/60 and 45 degree risers, for example an Expo-down rack on a 60 series where the rack would touch the roof without a slightly taller tower in front. FJ55's require the 45 degree risers due to the taller arc on the roof. Examples can be seen in the images below, and more information is in the video at the bottom of this page. |
